Q: I am traveling and require dialysis. Can I receive treatment at your center?

A: Yes, we are happy to provide transient dialysis for patients visiting from overseas, provided we have an open slot in our schedule.

To book your treatments, please contact our administration team well in advance (ideally 2-4 weeks) with the following:

  1. Your intended dates of travel.
  2. A full copy of your dialysis treatment sheet (prescription, type of dialyzer, blood flow rate, etc.).
  3. Confirmation of Hepatitis B, C, and HIV status (recent lab results).

Q: Does your center perform Arteriovenous (AV) Fistula cannulation and care?

A: Yes. Our clinical staff are highly trained in the proper cannulation and care of AV fistulas, AV grafts, and central venous catheters to minimize discomfort and preserve the life of your access. We adhere to strict protocols for infection control and access assessment before every treatment.

Q: How long does a typical hemodialysis treatment take?

A: A standard hemodialysis session typically lasts 4 hours, performed three times per week, but this is always individualized based on your doctor's prescription, your current health status, and lab results. We prioritize delivering the full prescribed treatment time for optimal outcomes.

Q: What should I expect immediately after my dialysis treatment?

A: After treatment, your access site will be secured, and your blood pressure will be checked. You may feel:

  • Slightly tired or sleepy.
  • A little lightheaded (this is usually temporary).
  • Hungry or thirsty.

We recommend you rest briefly, drink or eat something light, and avoid strenuous activity for the rest of the day. If you experience persistent cramping, severe headaches, or nausea, please inform our staff immediately.

Q: What are the most important things I should monitor between treatments at home?

A: Maintaining your health between sessions is crucial. Focus on these three areas:

  1. Fluid Intake: Closely follow your fluid restriction to manage weight gain (ideally less than 1-2 kg between treatments).
  2. Diet: Adhere to your prescribed diet, paying special attention to sodium, potassium, and phosphorus limits.
  3. Medications: Take all prescribed medications, especially your blood pressure pills and phosphate binders, exactly as directed.
